The 2012 WinsTonEighty Event

What’s in a name? The WinsTonEighty is a play on names from the formerly named Nascar All-Star Race “The Winston.”
So what’s it mean? JRL started on TEN w/ Nascar Racing 2 by Papyrus. Curt (Winwalkr) and his wife would setup races by invite only to promote great competition, but more importantly respectful racing. The WinVites were a tool to not only promote great racing, but was used as a screening mechanism for their league SARC that ran on Tuesday’s and Thursdays.
After the end of TEN and the shipping of Nascar Racing 3, Tom Oliver (TonEighty) and a group of members invested the time and money to put together a server. With Curt and Mary no longer in the picture, Tom took over running the leagues and the league name was changed to JustRacin, a league that wasn’t concerned about your speed of where you came from, but only wanted to promote quality, respectful racing.
So put it all together and the “WinsToneighty” name pays homage to our founding leadership.
So what’s in store for the 2012 Edition? A little of everything! Plan for a night of fun and frustration, remember, while we’ll crown a winner and hand out some prizes, this is a night FOR FUN!

Date: Thursday, May 24th, 2012
Server Start time: 8:00 PM PST (11:00 PM EST)
Event Start Time: 8:30 PM PST (11:30 PM EST)
Vehicle: The Trucks
Setup: FIXED (It will suck, don’t worry. You may whine, but only “Whining to Win” is acceptable. “Whining to just bitch” will result in severe punishment.
Unlimited Tows for the Night

Reasoning: The early start time will allow us get going right away. As usually we spend this time practicing, ect. We don’t need it tonight. Plus, this should allow some members to at least partake in some of the early festivities, if they can’t run all night. And those of you that show up late, don’t worry, you’ll have a chance to join in later. The Setups will be fixed to encourage more of you to just “Arrive and Drive” Plus you have a whole week afterwards to setup your truck for our League Race.

RACE #1 – The Opening HEAT
Time: 8:30 PM PST (11:30 PM EST)
Approx @ 8:36PM PST (11:36 PM EST) RACE: 50 LAPS. YELLOWS OFF. While this will certainly turn into an ugly race, we won’t have any rules per-say. BUT, we expect everyone to TRY and race respectfully. Shit will happen. There will be some contact and wrecks. But, we’re not out to penalize anyone. Just have fun. It’s a track we shouldn’t be racing on, so we’re racing on it ;)

FAQ:
Question: “If the cautions comes out after segment 2 begins, can I pit for tires if I wasn’t allowed to before?”
Question: “I can only stay up for the first legends track race, Can I still run?”
